other parts of life in the beautiful Bay of Plenty are very similar indeed.

The annual Tauranga Orange Festival was launched in 1961. The climax of the festival was the coronation of the Citrus Queen and the Coronation Ball. At its peak, the festival attracted about 70,000 people to the region. The float at the top represented Mount Maunganui in the 1967 festival parade.

 A 1968 shot of Marineland, which operated on Moturiki (aka Leisure Island) from 1966 to 1981. It was home to many marine mammals as well as chimpanzees, llamas, wallabies, kea and possums.
