Tauranga Arts Festival’s Visual Arts Programme is kicking off

Flags in the CBD herald our Brave New World.

The line-up for Tauranga Arts Festival’s Visual Arts Programme is kicking off in Tauranga CBD and includes numerous projects, such as A Death of Prosperity by Darcell Apelu and Brave New World by Nicol Sanders O’Shea. The work of Tauranga-based artist Nicol runs 22 October to 12 November, and will see her bright flags (detail above) flying on Durham St flagpoles to signal the Brave New World we now exist in, where washing hands is mandatory and coming home is tricky. Battles have a start but no finish, daily experiences are data driven, and coughing is the new smoking.
