Skate or Die

We all know Tauranga has a long history of being one of Aotearoa’s favourite surfing destinations,
but we also have a huge love of skateboarding and other roller sports in this area.

The good news is, Tauranga is looking at building a world-class facility that will work for aspiring Olympic skateboarders, as well as attracting domestic and international skate events.

The skate park concept will evolve from a "community co-design process", working with a skatepark designer over a series of workshops – so engaging and working with the community is central to
this process. The aim is to select a community design group and hold the first of three workshops
by the end of 2021.

So, if you are passionate about skating, and/or if you're keen to work as part of a team to design the sickest skate park, you can help by completing the survey and putting your name in the hat for selection to the community design group. Get on Board!
